D like dance

If someone asked my children, what they favourite activity is apart from playing, they would definitely say it is dancing. Black chalk paint, Felicity Jane Studio papers, flairs and some Pink Paislee buttons. The idea of papercut initial I borrowed from Suzy Taylor. You should go and check her beautiful handmade letters. Together

In April Jot Magazine made an incredible inspiring mood board again. I love all the colors and details! Thank you Loredana! As usual I’ve taken inspiration from the colour palette. I layered my photo with Felicity Jane papers and with the Silhouette backround. I added a lot of embellishments on the right side of the photo, and some left overs on the left side of my layout in order to balance it.  I know, I know… my layout turned out much more bucolic than the beautiful modern design on the mood board. But what can I do? Nowadays I can’t resist using orchids, petals and leaves. Siendo una loca con esta página participo en el reto de mayo de Cocoloko.es. Love, P.J.

Playing with twine

Whith my friend Tamara, we organize a scrap club here in Budapest. It’s a friendly gathering of scrapbook fun ladies twice a month. In every occasion we realize a particular project or techniques offered and instructed by us. In March, we decided to play whit twine. I prepared two inspirations for this occasion. On the first layout I cut out the word six ( ‘hat’ in Hungarian) whit my Cameo. After pinning holes along the edges, I embroidered with white twine to get this tone on tone effect. Con esta página participo en el reto de KIMIDORI. On the other project I wanted to create a little string art heart. In order to do this, and to use my stash, I  gathered all the rest brads I had. I created a rainbow color heart stabbing  the brads into the paper. I started the thread on the big brad and before coiling it around the next brad, I always returned to the big one. But you can do it without a particular plan, to get a nice messy …

Carnival

It seems that this year will be the “first time in my life” year for me. Since that is so, I made my first mixed media canvas. As I don’t have practice in painting, I had seen loads of tutorials before I  started to work. Here you can find some examples in case  we are in the same boat ;-): Cuckoo4 Design Fall for DIY Dans le lakehouse I followed Julia’s instructions from Cuckoo4Design, but I used more colors than she had recommended, and I mixed the paint with other mediums like impasto paste, in order to get a rougher surface. So, this is my canvas: Carnival.
