Four

My mischievous son turned 4 last weekend. I wanted to make something messy, so I started whith my watercolor paints, – I adore this blue, it’s so blue! – than I stamped and embossed on it. When I finished this mixed media part, started to frame up the layout. I layered some black and white paper from Felicity Jane Studio, cut out the number and added a few embellishments. That’s how I sewed the jacket to the button. Con este layout participo en el reto de In The Scrap. Love, P.J.

Vértes Mini album

Today I am sharing a mini album about the excursion we made in Vértes last year. I wanted to use all the bits and pieces I had left from the Tuesday Kit. To begin, I gathered some papers and puffy stickers. After I trimmed my photos by 4×4 inches and I printed out the quote on vellum (Árpád Tóth for the Hungarian readers). As a next step, I designed the front cover in Ilustrator.  You can use a Word Document also, but for me it is easyer to change the letter styles and put everything in its right place using this program. Once everything was designed and printed out, I punched one hole on every page for my small binder ring. Before assemble the album, I  decided to make some embellisments for the ring, so  I created a yellow tassel and I covered the background of a puffy heart with pattern paper then punched it in order to get a little charm. As a final tuch I added a banner and a ribbon to the ring. I also prepared a quick …

Us

‘I believe in the world as in a daisy, Because I see it. But I don’t think about it, Because to think is to not understand. The world wasn’t made for us to think about it (To think is to have eyes that aren’t well) But to look at it and to be in agreement.’ – Fernando Pessoa – Love, P.J.

Together

In April Jot Magazine made an incredible inspiring mood board again. I love all the colors and details! Thank you Loredana! As usual I’ve taken inspiration from the colour palette. I layered my photo with Felicity Jane papers and with the Silhouette backround. I added a lot of embellishments on the right side of the photo, and some left overs on the left side of my layout in order to balance it.  I know, I know… my layout turned out much more bucolic than the beautiful modern design on the mood board. But what can I do? Nowadays I can’t resist using orchids, petals and leaves. Siendo una loca con esta página participo en el reto de mayo de Cocoloko.es. Love, P.J.

Playing with twine

Whith my friend Tamara, we organize a scrap club here in Budapest. It’s a friendly gathering of scrapbook fun ladies twice a month. In every occasion we realize a particular project or techniques offered and instructed by us. In March, we decided to play whit twine. I prepared two inspirations for this occasion. On the first layout I cut out the word six ( ‘hat’ in Hungarian) whit my Cameo. After pinning holes along the edges, I embroidered with white twine to get this tone on tone effect. Con esta página participo en el reto de KIMIDORI. On the other project I wanted to create a little string art heart. In order to do this, and to use my stash, I  gathered all the rest brads I had. I created a rainbow color heart stabbing  the brads into the paper. I started the thread on the big brad and before coiling it around the next brad, I always returned to the big one. But you can do it without a particular plan, to get a nice messy …

Remember

You may  think this will be a “kill the kit” post, but in fact, I’ve just received my new kit from Felicity Jane. As I got my package, I was like a child in a candy store, I wanted to use all at the same time. 😀 When I read the Inspired by… post of Danielle and I saw the sneek peak image of March kit, I decided to use the sneek image design as a sketch:Nowadays I obsessively leave messages for my children, this time I chose a quote from Susana Fortes about being brother and sister .
