The Hungarian scrap community has two annual meetings, one in April and the other during the summer. This year I have the opportunity to make my first ever grunge style mixed media layout, instructed by Szilvia Sztarenki, mixed media artist and blogger known as Beedeescap. photo: Beedeescrap I have to confess that it took me 7 hours to finish my layout from the ground coat to the last embellishment, it was a a long-term struggle, but I think it was something worth fighting for. I used white cardstock , letter stickers and Pentacolor patina effect and rust effect paint set to finish my page. Love, P.J.
Finally I had time to upload this blogspot. I don`t want to go into details how I made it because I think the pictures speak for themselves. Today’s all about visual inspiration, just a very short introduction: The backgroung I made with acrylic paint and after I used Whipped Spackle by Faber Castell through the Nőicsizma Design stencil. Once the Whipped Spackle was dry, I added Wilna´s cute little bears and some embellishments from the Heart Day Collection. And from now on, it´s truly only visual inspiration comes: Love, P.J.
My daughter had very little hair for a long time. Fortunately, in the end she has grown her hair, but I would never make jokes about it in our house. She still would like to have hair like Rapunzel, and she takes this very seriously… This layout I made using Dannielle & Suse’s sketch from Felicity Jane Studio. First I made a stenciled background, than I layered some FJ papers with tulle. Finally I decorated with this cute little black FJ stars and some puffy stickers from Crate Paper. Love, P.J.
This is my current favorite picture about my daughter and my current favorite poem about motherhood. The layout based on Wilna’s “Lesson in grace” mini workshop and I made it for Cocoloko’s Trio Challenge. Love, P.J.
I think we all agree that Wilna is our eternal inspiration. She was my first “international teacher” when I started scrapbooking, and time to time I feel I must return and create a layout in her style. First I made a background whit black chalkboard paint. Once the black paint was dry I added a soft pink paint layer. After that, I drew one of Wilna’s pattern whit my Silhouette sketh pen. It is very easy! You will follow the same steps as for a normal cut file, but at the end, in the ‘Cut Settings Window’ you will change from ‘cutting blade’ to ‘sketch pen’. Do not forget to load your pen before printing! Here you can find an official tutorial. The creative files I used from Wilna: BLOOM Collection and LEAVES Cut Files + Brushes. As a last step I adedd a little bit of color to freshen up my composition using Jot Magazine’s mood board as a color scheme. As a final touch I embellished my layout with Wilnas cut outs. Love, P.J.
This is my all time favorite photo about Tamara and me, and at the moment this is my all time favorite layout about us. I used Felicity Jane Kits. Y como soy una loca por el scrap, participo en el reto mensual de Cocoloko.es. Love, P.J.
It seems that this year will be the “first time in my life” year for me. Since that is so, I made my first mixed media canvas. As I don’t have practice in painting, I had seen loads of tutorials before I started to work. Here you can find some examples in case we are in the same boat ;-): Cuckoo4 Design Fall for DIY Dans le lakehouse I followed Julia’s instructions from Cuckoo4Design, but I used more colors than she had recommended, and I mixed the paint with other mediums like impasto paste, in order to get a rougher surface. So, this is my canvas: Carnival.
I made this online workshop for NőiCsizma Design, in May 2015. During the workshop we used some mixed – media and layering technics, also to prepare self-made embellishments to create a mini album.
