As spring approaches so fast, I decided to change a bit my favorite place in the house, my scrapbook room. We are always so very creative! We use all the things in a different way that it should be. Today, I’ll choose the classic way, I’m going to use the resin frames as a frame. I believe it may have occurred to you too, when you are practicing or experimenting with watercolor or other mediums, however, the outcome does not finish as your originally planned, though you feel pity to throw out the sheet. So, do not do it! Just use a part of it! Put a frame on the paper, and try to find the perfect cut out. When you found it, cut out the detail and put it into a frame. I am very happy with my recycled sheet. Love, P.J.
Some days are just bad days, that’s all. I started this layout by choosing the photo I wanted to use. Then, I painted some paper with watercolor and I layerd them beneath the foto with a piece of lace. I wanted to use some Crate Paper chipboard elements from my Hip Kit and the rub-ons. I adore rub-ons! It always gives a special texture to the layout. I attached the chipboards, but it was kind of disappointed with how it turned out, to be honest, so I started to bring more embellishments. For my final touches, I added more gold elements and a bit of machine stitching. I did not want to journaling on this page, the date is on the other side of the page, like on old photos. This is my first hybrid page. Nowdays I have to work whit blogs, so I thought, why not create a blog stile layout. I adore the moodboards and sketches made by fashion designers, thus I collected some ideas which I wanted to use on my page. The picture I used is one of my favorite photo about my children. I know, they are acephalous, but I think is still so expressive. I pre-print the image whit the quote and the title on it, than I painted a “color sheme” with gelatos and I put on some remnant fabric using a pin. The quote (Javier Marías: Corazón tan blanco – this book is a must!) is about the power of words, the power of silence, to listen or not to hear something. I have chosen the title “Hello” because it is a general word, everybody understands it all around the word, and it is a good start for a conversation. Finaly, above, in the right corner I added some die cut elements, wood veneer and a …
As I previously mentioned, we had our first family photography taken in January. I like this photo so much of my son because it is extremely idealistic. That is why I have chosen the title “Flawless”. I did not want to use much colors, I just piled up some NCsD chipboards, white resin frames, and bit of metallic add-ons to be more masculine finish. 😉 I put everything underneath his photo except the little fella, who sag into the picture. I am very proud of myself, because I could resist making splatters! Finally I put some light blue acrylic elements; I think they bring some life to this great whiteness. So, this is my fairy tale about a three years old, flawless little boy… Love, P.J.
Katie from Gossamerblue have chosen my page Me, Myself and I to lift. Here you can see her lovely and fun version. I couldn’t be happier!
Today I am sharing my first layout as a Guest Designer for NőiCsizma Design. At the end of January, we had our first family photography taken, this picture was taken during the photoshoot as well, and I love the style of the photographer, “the world of Kata”, as she captured perfectly the relationship of the brother and sister, and the face of Lena shows the love towards her younger brother too. I did not want to overdecorate the page, thus, I decided to only use some chipboard elements, some flowers in colours to match the colourscheme of the photo. I have to admit tough, I spent a lot of time to find the suitable place for the title in the picture, however, at the end, the final version is the closest to my original idea”
I like painting, most of the times I find it difficult when I can’t paint what is in my mind, and having no time to practice what I envisaged. One night, I was messing with the paint and I put one colour on another and put them together onto a paper with a cardboard. At certain points the colours come together but not everywhere, what I would like is the acrylic paint not to absorb as much as it does at the moment and also texturised the paper. Furthermore, in order to create more layers, I have added embossing powder. At first sight, I thought that this is a new creation of mine, however, later on I have come to the conclusion that this isn’t a complete piece of work, so I decided to convert it in a scrapbook layout. I have chosen one of the lyrics of Silje Nergaard as the theme of the picture.
An afternoon I made some funny pictures of my daughter. I wanted to use the pictures in one layout when I was inspired by the idea of subway photo automats to make quick passport size photo shots. I lined the photos in one column, and I used all my rub-on stash beneath it. I cut out the title and I pasted on some Crate Paper chipboards and these pom-poms to be more playful. My daughter loved this development ;-).
After an unfortunately flood from the neighbors – I had to thrown out the furniture too, – I decided to rearrange my scraproom. It’s very small, only 1 square meter. I was crazy about polka dot wall for ages. First I painted the wall in white, than I cut out a polka dot stencil with my Silhouette. Adjusting the stencil on the wall, I made my dots with archival ink. For this time I decided to have a black and white – blue color palette for the room, so I assembled the furniture and I bought some light blue boxes as additional storage. I have to confess, I’m very happy whit my new scraproom.
